lunch with Rodrigo and André in Porto

Erica, my partner in crime during my Rio days (who also miraculously masked as my personal psychologist, a big sister and a clown) was unfortunately (but very fortunate for all the children and families she dealt with) helping out in Cape Verde at the time I was visiting her hometown Porto, in Portugal.   But it was Erica, and she would have not let me leave Porto without me being introduced to her family and their easy going hospitality. Especially this day, where her cousin and his partner toured me around the charming fishermen town and took me to a new restaurant that was trialling a tapas style menu. Though new and fresh, the menu obviously hit home to locals as André was able to explain me the dishes as they came out, linking back to the traditional Portuguese cuisine that his palette veins from.   New menus with the sense of traceability to its humble bloodline. hmm, my kind of inspiration.
